About us

Founded in 1990, the Utilization Managers’ Network of Ontario (UMNO) was born out of the idea that utilization mangers within Ontario needed a way to collaborate and learn from each other.

UMNO aims to facilitate the implementation, integration, and ongoing communications of healthcare analytic activities in Ontario health care facilities. While initially focused on utilization, we’ve now spread our net to include all levels of performance management and decision support, including financial, analytical, educational, health records and more. UMNO hosts 3 education days a year, 2 conferences in Toronto and 1 virtually. Unlike other conferences that offer high-level, theoretical discussions, we provide applicable solutions to modern problems within the world of healthcare analytics. UMNO’s aim is to provide you with the tools and knowledge required to implement what you’ve learnt into your daily practice.

UMNO conferences are hands on, collaborative experiences that offer great value for money. Our experienced and diverse team of executives generously volunteer their time to organize education days and process attendee feedback, as your insight informs future education days. UMNO has been involved in idea-testing with the Ministry of Health (MOHLTC) and our executives include members from The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), Cancer Care Ontario (ATC-CCO), Local Health Integration Network’s (LHIN), Ontario Health (OH), Heath Quality Ontario (HQO), and more.
